Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a poor little boy, his name was Gabriel. Gabriel had no parents, his mother had died giving birth to him and his father was gone many years ago. Gabriel moved from house to house, no one wanted to take care of hime, he had never felt love or how it was to be happy.

One night, after been thrown out from the house he was currently living in, to sleep with the animals he had had enough! Never ever again would he let anyone treat him like this. He took the few things he owned and went. He went away for good, without looking back, although he had no water or food.

After a few days he came to a town. In the town the king lived with his daughter. Gabriel went from house to house and begged for food. In one of the houses an old man opened the door and said: If you want I can give you food and a place to sleep if you work for me. Ofcourse the boy said yes! He was happy, finally he was taking care of himself and no one that treated him bad.

After a few weeks the man had to go away for a couple of weeks. He gave Gabriel a key and said: You are allowed to go into every room, except my room. If you go in there, something bad will happen to you. The boy promised not go in there and they sad goodbye to each other.

The hours went and Gabriel got more and more curious. He went in and  explored every single room. When he came outside the man’s room he just stood still for a while and stared at the door..

-       Ohh I really want to go in, he said to himself.

After a while of thinking, he took the key and he opened the door slowly. The room was strange, not what he had imagined. The walls were emty, he had no furniture, it was dirty, and in the middle of the floor there was a box. Did he dare open the box? Yes hed did. Iinsde the box there was a smaller golden box. It was so beauiful, the most beautiful Gabriel had ever seen. He opened the golden box too! Oooops, A little golden bug flied out.

-       What do you wish master? The bug asked the boy.

-       I want you to crawl back to the box again, the boy said scared. And the wish came true.

The boy closed the box, ran out from the room and loocked the door.  But the couldn’t forget about the flying bug that could speak. So that night he went back to the room and opened the box. The bug flied out and asked

-       What do you wish master?

-       I want to spend the night with the princess but without anyone noticing that she is away, he said.

The same night the princess was in the boy’s room and the next mornig she was back in the castle.

-       I has such a strange dream, the princess said to the king. I dreamt that I was in a boy’s room, and everything felt so real.

-       It cant be true, I have guards all around the castle, he said.

The next day, the same thing happend, he wished for the princess to come. And so she did. She once again old her father what had happend. The king got worried and doubbled the guards around the castle and he placed a bag with beans and a hole in the bottom tied to the princess. The next night the same thing happend, but the King followed  the beans, right into the boy’s bedroom.

Gabriel was thrown into prison of the castel and the king wanted him dead. The next morning when the king came to get Gabriel, he wasn’t there, of course the golden bug had helped him.

The king felt powerless and decided that the only thing he could do was to let the boy marry his daughter, he couldn’t protect her from him.

After a few weeks the man came home from his trip, he realized that the boy had tricked him and went to the castle where Gabriel was now living.  He asked to speak to the princess:

-       ”Yous husband took the wrong box, the box he has is mine and this is his. Could you please give me back mine and give him this? He asked the princess”.

-       ”Yes, ofcourse, she said. Here you are”.

The man ordered  the bug to take the boy to an island far away from town, and so it did! The boy was devastated. What was he supposed to do now? As he sat on a stone crying while an old lady came.

-       What’s wrong my child? She asked him. And the boy told her what had happend. I will help you, wait here.

The lady came back with a little mouse. She will help you, she said!

-       How can a mouse help me? Gabriel asked.

-       Close your eyes, think  of the place where you want to go and touch the mouse.

Within a second he was back, outside the castle. The king was dead, the princess was a slave and the man had made himself the king. The boy closed his eyes and touched the mouse and thought about the box with the golden bug. With the bug in his hand he wished the man far far far away, in a place where he could get no help, where he couldn’t hurt anyone and a place from where he could never come back.

From that day, the princess and the boy lived happily ever after!

Det är nog alla sagor jag läste för dig som barn som ligger till grund för din fantasi. Jättebra...om än lite lång:-)
